He's here

His toothbrush is now in the bathroom. His underwear is living close to mine again. Neither one of us was able to sprawl out on the bed. Honey the cat has to be convinced all over again that my bedspace is not her bedspace. Larry now has his own man space in our daughter's house. And while there's a bunch of clothes to be washed, by the end of day yesterday the chaos had been brought under control.

He left KC Saturday morning with our friends that he'd been staying with. They drove his truck down and spent the night. They left the next morning after the first couple had arrived to help unload the truck. It was as though after taking care of him for 6 weeks, giving time for the warrior to become a husband and father again, they ushered him to the place of his new life and only left after some of our Dallas family had come. Isn't that an interesting picture?

We are so grateful to all the people who helped in this process, both in KC and here. Some things CAN be done alone if you must but it's so much better when such things are shared with people who love you. The guys (and lady) who came to help unload and pack all our stuff into the space our daughter made available hung out for a while and we relaxed and talked.... and began.

We began. Something new is starting for us and it began yesterday.
