Ok - I didn't have a picture of anyone giving birth but I thought this picture from Deep Ellum kinda articulated what I'm talking about. Up close there is all this clutter around the path and things (buildings) that could use some restoring. My goal is clearly seen in the distance I just have to negotiate the path there. Shouldn't be too hard - see how straight it is? But even so I couldn't walk that street without my eyes being everywhere and thinking about what I saw along the way.
