Living in the Daily

Wow - working this temp job downtown really takes my time and there are so many things I think about and want to write but then I don't. But I'm determined I will keep this going. But working is a priority. I came here to go to work and find my "place" and I'm face forward with that pursuit. So that will come first. I can get to downtown from Rowlett in about 30 minutes in the morning if I leave at the right time but it almost always takes me an hour to get home. It takes me 30 minutes to get away from downtown - I keep thinking there is a better way to do this and yesterday I may have found it. I'll experiment next week. So I get home about 6:00 but if I go by a store or something then it's even later. I try to walk still and need to keep that up so there goes another hour in the day and OK some days I just don't do it. I also have my "chores" that I do around here. I try to keep up with other's lives either through facebook or email and then there you go. And now I've started working on line to increase my knowledge of Excel. I love that program and would like to be able to do some of the more complex things. And then there's picture taking and stuff. It's amazing what I can get just by walking around the block on my lunch hour.

So.... I've just got to find that rhythm that lets everything work together.

And you would think that somebody into taking pics would post a few more so I thought I would today.

Here is the Trammel Crow Building where I'm working every day. It's 50 stories and I'm on the 35th. I'm not too old to be wowed with this. I think it's fun but it's also a chore since parking below is very expensive so I (everybody) park below the Meyerson Symphony Orchestra building 2 blocks away. Wearing flip flops to work is very common.

A view of the horizon from the switchboard desk where I sit part of the time. The black dot is an airplane taking off from Love Field. Next is the view from my desk. That is not my chair. It's in my way but I'm really focusing on the computer when I'm here.
This is what you see when you look down from the window behind the switchboard desk. To the right is Morton Meyerson Symphony building. I'm parked underneath it. The road across the picture is Woodall Rogers Freeway.
Can you see my Explorer? 4th backend on the left.
Views of the courtyard where I like to eat lunch. This is between the main building and the Crow Collection of Asian art. Very nice and even on hot days is a good place to sit.

Looking west on Elm Street from Deep Ellum. See the older buildings in the foreground - that's Deep Ellum. Eclectic and somewhat seedy now. You get every thing from ghetto up. I'm going on a job interview in Deep Ellum Monday. This company gives its employees a gated and locked parking lot. How about that for a place to work. Works for me. I think it may be on it's way back up.
Ok that's some stuff from my daily life. I hope you all have (or had) a good 4th of July holiday. I am because Larry's here.
Gotta go do my chores.
